can hair grow over a cyst on the scalp? my 8 month old baby has raised bump on scalp that is hard to see because of hair. i'm not sure if it's just a skin irritation or a small cyst?

: Hair can grow over a cyst. It is not feasible to provide an opinion without examining the child. It does not seem to be an urgent issue and you could address it with the pediatrician at the next visit.
Make sure to get all the vaccinations for the child.

Scalp lesion: This may be an infection e.g. A staph infection.  You need medical attention.  See your doctor for examination. Meanwhile use a medication neosporin oint  on area three times per day until you can be seen, as soon as possible.  Go to walk in clinic if you cannot see your doctor.

3 sm flat/raised shiny skin firm bumps back scalp. 2 at exact opp ends of head(right & left), smaller 1" from left bump. left bump black dot middle?

i have four small bumps on my scalp all at different regions. its sore when i touch them but they are not red. just raised bumps.  what are they?

Acne/ cyst: I often see patients with cystic acne like raised tender spots on the scalp, mostly on the back of the head. The skin on the scalp is very thick so usually it is not red. Most of the time they resolve on there own. Moist warm compresses help. Some times they need an antibiotic and occasionally need to be removed. If they are getting worse then see a dermatologist.

i hit my head 3 weeks ago pretty hard. no loss consciousness, no vomiting, or dizziness. i felt fine afterwards. but, i have had scalp pain as if on the roots of my hair. especially when i move my hair around. i have ocd and im worried do i go to er?

See below: You could conceivably have a facial neuralgia involving trigeminal nerve, but the described area is not governed by the Greater Occipital Nerve of Arnold, and ergo, you are not having occipital neuralgia, as anatomy is very wrong.  Would a Concierge visit help?

Scalp/tmj connection: There are muscles under your scalp. These are attached to the temporalis muscles(forehead).
So if you have muscle imbalance in the muscles that open and close your jaw, the scalp can be tightened as well.

there are roughly 5 redish brown circles on my scalp that aren't raised, don't itch, and don't hurt. no hereditary psoriasis. what could it be?

Rash on scalp: On those patches have you lost hair? Several things can cause that--- including allergen in the shampoo or hair gel, tinea capitis ( a kind of fungal infection of scalp) and of course psoriasis. See a dermatologist.

Psoriasis: It is probably psoriasis but like with any lesion you would need to have it examined as certain cancers can present this way.
