Probably not: Most people recover from AC joint separation in about 2 to 12 weeks without the need for surgery. However, your recovery may be slower if you have arthritis in your shoulder, damaged cartilage between your collarbone and your shoulder blade, or a severe shoulder separation. Give it some time!

Yes, but...: Yes, but it depends on the specific shoulder injury.  There are many things that can go wrong in a shoulder, and rehab is specific to each.  Most exercises focus on regaining range of motion, flexibility, and strength.  See your dr or a physical therapist and they should be able to come up with a plan to help you.

You mentioned a pelvic injury; it is not clear that the pelvis was fractured or there was injury to the joints. Given the information provided, I advise initially a NSAID for pain relief. At some point you should begin physical therapy to get and keep moving

i have a loose ac joint injury (minor).  what are some weight lifting exercises i can do to strengthen that area. i have full range of motion and use?

Strengthen muscles: You want to strengthen the surrounding agonist and antagonist muscles that are intimately involved with the ac joint: these would include but not restricted to the trapezius, deltoid, pectoralis major and scapular thoracic muscles including the levator scapula, rhomboids and serratus.

hello. i took 500mg of naproxen two hours ago for a muscle/joint injury contracted in the gym.  however, the naproxen isn't having much effect. can i take one (or two) tablets of diclofenac sodium 50 mg now to alleviate pain or should i wait until the nap

Alternate w/Tylenol: Take naproxen and if not effective after a couple hours, take Tylenol (acetaminophen). Using naproxen and  diclofenac after two hours will increase the risk of stomach irritation.

Lump : A moveable lump under the skin may represent a non cancerous cyst or lipoma (fatty growth).   If the area is growing or becoming painful see a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment and to make sure a skin cancer is not present.

Finger pain: Do you do a lot of repetitive motion with your hands? This ma be a ganglionic cyst, however, you need to have it examined by your doctor or hand specialist to determine what it is.
