i am three weeks postpartum and had second degree tearing, i have some redness in my perineum and anus area it's a bit sore as well. is this normal?

Accepted Answer

Yes: It's normal for the area to be red, but if it's red and warm and swollen, that could be a sign of infection.  If you are at ALL worried, no harm in getting it looked at by ob/gyn or family doctor.  Better sometimes, to be safe, and make sure there's no infection.

at my postpartum visit my doctor told me that i would have to have perineum repair surgery after healing badly. was this a result of bad stitching?

Accepted Answer

Probably not: There are three components to restoring childbirth perineal injuries. 1.) The extent or seriousness of the injury 2.) The quality of the surgical repair 3.) Your own ability to heal without intervening factors like infection or poor nutrition.

7 weeks postpartum and today i noticed a small bump on my left side next to my belly button n when i put pressure it hurts a bit should i be concerned?

Accepted Answer

Examination: Without seeing the area in question it is difficult to offer much guidance. If the area is in the belly button then it may be an umbilical hernia. If the area is in the skin then you may have an skin infection. An examination of image of the area is necessary to draw further conclusions

i am 7 weeks post partum & fully breastfeeding, i noticed white pimple like bumps on my areola close to my nipple but not on the nipple. what is this?

Get it checked out: See your physician for an exam and find out whether you have a plugged duct, milk blister or an abscess along with a case of mastitis. All three can give a pimple-like appearance.

okay i have little hard flesh colored bumps on my perineum and they are forming a type of line, they don't hurt or anything. what is it? im worried

Needs to be seen: Could be warts  or other lesions? Can't tell without seeing them, possibly even biopsy.

i am 22 weeks pregnant. i have been wiping my bottom hard. now i habe small fleshy bumps on my perineum. are they hemeroids or should i test 4 warts?

See an OB/GYN: Without seeing these it impossible to tell what they are.  Get examined, diagnosed and treated. Good luck.

i hit my perineum pretty hard(speed bump on bike), and it has been sore for a week or 2. could this lead to erectile dysfunction?

Accepted Answer

Possibly: It is possible to injure the pudendal nerve through trauma caused by a bicycle seat impact or "straddle" type injury.  If so, I would generally expect more symptoms that just ED, although it is possible that is the only symptom you would experience.  Consider icing the area and discussing the injury with your primary physician--especially if the symptoms do not resolve on their own.

been experiencing constipation, noticed small bump in rectal area (maybe hemorrhoids) now perineum feels a bit hard and swollen on the rectal side?

Hard bump: There are internal and external hemorrhoids. And you have constipation which may well be a proximal cause for your hemorrhoids. So first, get over constipation by altering diet(no rice,oatmeal,barley,bananas,milk) and Miralax (polyethylene glycol). Basically a bowel prep. Hopefully the bump will largely resolve itself by then. If not your GI doc will thank u for being so considerate.

normal papsmear, but painful bumps on perineum. what could it be?

No related to pap: Hi, a pap smear is a screen for abnormal cells on the cervix, not related to external  bumps.  If someone has  painful bumps it might be best if your health care provider sees them.  Painful indicates to me they could be infected:  either viral (possibly herpes) or bacterial.  It depends how long you've had them and if they come and go, etc.  They could be contagious, so it's a good idea to check.

i have a purple bump on my perineum, what is it and is it harmful?

Many causes: It can have a variety of causes. A perineal hematoma, abscess, epidermoid cyst or cancer are among the more common. You should see your Dr for a thorough evaluation. they can rule out the more serious causes and help treat the benign ones.
