Oh sesame-oid.: The mere fact that you are aware of the many possible problems with sesamoid surgery, is telling. It is safe to say that you can almost guarantee post-operative issues, if the sesamoid bones are removed. Of course, depending on your pre-operative symptoms, this may be an equitable exchange. These potential problems should be discussed in detail with your surgeon before your consent.

A clean up procedure: Cheilectomies are "Clean-up" procedures to help relieve some of the signs and symptoms of an arthritic joint, while still preserving the joint.   Not quite sure why the toe is out of alignment.   The alternative to a cheilectomy is an implant.  These are much improved over the  past few years and are quite similar to a knee or hip titanium appliance.

Cheilectomy: Check with your foot surgeon. May have sensory neuritis, infection, inflammation, or just residual arthritis.

???: Assuming you are recovering from the surgery with a bandage, you should wait until it isfully removed. I really do not see any reason why you can't get pedicures after foot surgery. Ask your surgeon.

i had a cheilectomy on the right foot on big toe today afternoon, it's now 11pm and it feels hot and burns on the outside of my foot (little toe). is this normal? i've had 1 tablet of co-dydramol and 1 tablet of naproxen so far?

: I feel it is always best to contact the surgeon of record. They know what procedures performed. They know what to expect postop. If not happy with response go to the emergency room.  Make sure dressings are not too tight. Swelling can cause this. Use ice keep elevated.

There are : Literally over a hundred different bunion surguries.....you need to pick a doctor you feel comfortable with, they will take xrays evaluate your foot and explain to you your options.

Ask surgeon: This should have been all spelled out for you before the procedure. There are also different procedures that take different amounts of time to heal.

Depends: There are too many methods to list here for hallux valgus; from a simple 'bumpectomy' to significant reconstruction. Technique chosen is based on etiology, biomechanics, and patient factors such as age, activity, smoking, previous compliance, etc. Some examples include osteotomies (surgical bone fractures) to correct alignment, fusions to prevent abnormal motion, etc. Many require fixation.

First: Everyone perceives pain differently. Second, there are many different procedures to cure this issue. Rest assured if you have pain and this is why you are doing the surgery, you will be given pain killers for post op and ultimately your problem will be fixed.

No: It is elective surgery, and can wait until you are ready.
