Obesity: There is no such thing as a healthy amount of candy. In the present state of things where more children are growing up fat and obese, any additional amount of sugar not normally contained in food should be disallowed. Following this rule will not only prevent obesity but also dental caries.

Accepted Answer

Sugar free candy: There are diabetic candies which are sugar free (not for small children = choking hazard). Sugar free gum and lollypops would be good treats too. Fresh sliced strawberries with a little splenda for valentines. Fresh raspberries are fun for kids too.  An apple on a stick with a little bit of caramel for halloween = delicious!

how do i stop eating candy?  i do it all year long, not just at valentine's day or halloween.

Stop.: There is clearly a psycholigical component i cannot address, but!  wean yourself off sweets of any type, including juices, etc.  Stop sodas and switch to unsweetened tea, water, and flavored selzer waters.  Get the candies and other sweets out of your health...They did not simply "materialize" at your abode.  Someone bought them.  Have plenty of veggies: celery, brocholli, cauliflower, and cukes.

i was just sick with covid for a week. just went to get tested & im negative. im going to a halloween party in a couple days. is it possible to get covid again immediately after recovering from it & testing negative?

Accepted Answer

: Unless you had a positive  COVID test there is no good way to tell if you had it. If you were + then you should self isolate for 14 days and mask up.  You can check antibodies in a few months.   Assume you had been vaccinated for COVID and flu.  So should be no worries.  I would still wear a mask and ask that others to the same.  CDC warns do not visit Philippines unless vaccinated.  Get the jab!

Count carbs : In advance let your child know when and how much will be allowed and make appropriate  Insulin  adjustments .  Encourage healthy foods and set real limits.

Abdominal pain: There are many possibilities.  I would recommend making an appointment with a primary care physician for evaluation.  Possibilities include a hernia, mass in the abdomen, digestive problem, constipation, chronic muscle tear, and many others.  A health care provider can help narrow down the possibilities.

my friend is having a halloween party tomorrow night. there will be about 30 people. they will be checking temperatures at the door. there will social distancing, masks and a sanitizing station. we will all be wearing masks. is it safe to go?

30 large group: In general gatherings of more than 8-10 people are not recommended. It is difficult to socially distance with a larger group. Please follow CDC guidelines and maintain social distancing.  Please have a flu vaccine.

Uncommon: Most mosquito bites are harmless in the us. West nile virus is probably the most common infection transmitted by mosquitoes in the us.
