Med hair loss: Antidepressants have been reported in case reports to both cause and benefit "alopecia", hair loss.  In a very small double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 14 patients taking Imipramine 75 mg/day had significantly more hair regrowth than did control subjects, an effect that was independent of  reductions in anxiety or depression. Psychotherapy and meditation are being studied to reduce alopecia.

First: talk To your doctor about other causes. To my knowledge hair loss would be a rare side effect only with antidepressants and antipsychotics. Please explore a more common cause first which will dictate a different approach to treatment.

See a dermatologist: It is certainly possible that your hair loss on top is a part of your described male pattern baldness. It can happen at your age. However, an examination of your scalp and pattern of hair loss would be best to determine if there are any other explanations. A dermatologist is most often the best person to see though some primary care doctors are comfortable evaluating hair loss.

See dermatologist: You need to properly diagnose  this hair loss. Should it be the very common androgenetic alopecia, known as male pattern baldness, he will provide you with possibly an oral med along with a topical otc med to help you. However, it just might be something different, and that is why you should be evaluated.

Will stabilize: The hair will return over a period of 6 months but rogaine (minoxidil) could be used in interval as stimulant to hair growth. Suggest checking blood for thyroid status, as well as iron levels. These can contribute to hair loss.

Lots of reasons: Go see your family doc and even get a referral to a dermatologist specializing in hair loss. First, remember that stress can lead to hair loss. Child birth & hospitalization are classic causes of stress but so is surgery. Hair eventually comes back several months later. Thyroid disease can do this too. So can too much testosterone & its derivative, dihydrotestosterone. So get tested and see derm.

No definite: This varies from person to person.  It's often a matter of trial and error to find one that doesn't cause significant weight gain.  Sometimes the increased weight is only during the early phase of treatment. Also after stabilization your doctor may be able to reduce the medication to a maintenance level and reduce your weight.

Alopecia?: There is a condition called alopecia which causes the hair to fall out.  This is different from male pattern baldness which is genetic and not a disorder.  It can be in patches or the entire body. A dermatologist can tell you if you have alopecia (an autoimmune disorder) and treat it.  Peace and good health.

As you know,: creatine turns into creatine phosphate in the body and helps make ATP, a energy source for muscles. Evidence of its effectiveness is mixed: may help for short period of athletic activity; not for endurance. As with all supplements, their manufacture is not regulated. Only if: It's much too tight. Why are you on estrogen and spironolactone. If you're overweight and have Insulin resistance that can easily lead to hair loss. Talk it over with your doctor.
