Not necessarily: Pet for carcinoid is not really "routine" but it is not at all unusual and it is certainly reasonable to get a postoperative baseline scan. Often depends on the specific situation.

: Radiation therapy might be needed in order to stabilize  further progression at T6 and help with possible related symptoms, pain specifically. Your oncologist remains your best reference at this point and you should always inquire about what the goals are for proposed treatments.

Lung mass: Something is missing! There must have been symptoms that led to a pet scan. Unless a biopsy was performed how could your doctor simply say that there was no cancer? I hope there was indeed no cancer but the symptoms that led to the pet scan should be a cause for biopsy. Do the doctors have any idea what the pleural mass might be? Please keep me informed.

Not enough info...: It is possible to have an abnormal scan at 5 years but I do not know enough about your history and what was abnormal in this scan.  There are many sources of false positive on pet scan but without seeing your images or reports and without your exact history it is difficult to determine what the status is.

Abnormal PET....: It is difficult to say without knowing your exact history.  What type of cancer was it?  Was the pet performed at the same institution and interpreted by the same person?  Abnormal pet could mean recurrence but without the report it is difficult to say.  There are many causes of false positive on pet.   Please look further into this calmly and discuss with your doctor to understand the details.

Yes: Colon cancer can indeed spread to that lymph node, as well as to others. Also, PET scans can give false positive results. Confer with your doctor.

Location?: Where is the positive site of activity on the pet scan? Is it in a site that could be easily biopsied?  Could be unrelated to the melanoma.

PET scan is better: A pet scan can pick up tumors which are not seen with other tests. But even PET scan requires cancer size to be about 1cm or larger. it will not pick up tiny tumor (Microscopic cells)

Will be a problem: First speak to your doctors , for alternative tests , the reason for pet scan , are they suspecting a malignancy ? Or test related to your heart ? .Get in touch with large diagnostic centers , some places may accommodate larger people. Good luck.
