felt a gurgling feeling in my heart. i am a very anxious person and ive been stressed. felt this sensation before usually only a second & causes me to instinctively cough. this time it lasted longer, still seconds though. possible remedies?

: Relaxed, take a deep breath hold by your nose hold it for a second or two then slowly exhale through your mouth and repeat the cycle when you have that feeling. Deep breathing technique is an effective method to fight off anxious feeling.

laying on left side causes my heart to feel like it's gurgling/struggling to pump? it feels heavy.  kind of feeling it when standing up as well.

Normal: Such feelings when lying on your left side are quite common and normal. If you are overweight, it would help to lose weight.

Possibly: A "leaky" heart valve can cause the symptoms you describe. It depends which heart valve and just how leaky it is. PVCs are extra heart beats that make your heart feel like it's irregular, but they don't cause dizziness or a gurgling feeling. PVCs can cause a sensation of fluttering or palpitations in the chest. An echocardiogram is the best test to look at leaky valves. Good luck!

NO: however, for peace of mind and further evaluation of  your heart skipping beats ( usually benign ), I suggest a physical exam, blood testing and an EKG.

Hard to know: Poking sensation in heart does not sound worrisome for heart disease especially in 35 yo female. Benign nature would be supported by lack of exertional symptoms and negative family hx of structural disease.  Would be worthwhile to have ekg and a good listen to ensure nothing is amiss, but at end of day, this sounds to be more musculoskeletal or perhaps esophageal.

The mechanism can be reproduced by viscerosomatic, or somatosomatic response by the body.  Consult your physician for further exam if you have persistent symptom(s),

Reactive hypoglycemi: This could be reactive hypoglycemia , need to be evaluation by endocrinologist.  This happens when  blood sugar levels drops down to less than 70mg/dl feels weak, hungry, dizzy , palpitation and shaky.It can reiieve by frequent every 2-3 hrs eating-non sugary food.
