Depends on the dose: At normal doses, side effects should appear very slowly, over the course of months.  At higher doses, the side effects can be almost immediate.

Prednisone: Greetings. Prednisone is a medication that works as an antiinflammatory. The medication also suppresses your adrenal production of hormones. The gradual reduction is needed in most cases. Check with your prescribing doctor. The dose of the prednisone and the prescribing information is very important to know. We can often times recommend a rapid taper or just stopping in some cases.

Not worth it: Possibly depending the cause of the ulcers. The negative side-effects outweigh the potential benefits. The most likely cause is cancer sores. No matter what you do they will be there from 10-14 days. They will stop hurting before that and you can buy zilactin over the counter to make things more comfortable in the mean time. No relief, see a doctor.

May take 3 days: It may take 3 days until a massive swollen lip can get back to normal. Consider taking antihistamine pill as well.

: It is likely safe to have the injection. Let the dermatologist doing the injection know about the recent steroid course, including the day the last dose was taken. The dermatologist will then be able to say for sure that an injection is safe. Best of luck to you!!

: Usually for short courses of oral steroids there is not need to taper, but since you had a reaction which is consistent when abruptly stopping, discuss a tapering schedule over the course of a few days with your PCP. Topical steroids are available for inflammatory rashes and please discuss with your PCP.

can prednisolone eye drops (for iritis) have an effect on the birth control pill (cyclen)? will it make the pill less effective?

Unlikely: Antibiotics can have an effect but steroid eyedrops are unlikely to cause a problem.
