why does my gums bleed at night?

See dentist and PCP: you may have gingivitis cavities, or taking herbs or meds that are causing blood thinning. Have it checked. Don't delay! You oral health is a reflection, and prognostic indicator of your general health &amp; longevity. So the healthier your oral health is, the healthier your body is as 95% of whatever you eat  is absorbed into your general circulation, which is why excellent nutrition is so important!

Infection: It's not weird, it's infection.  Please see your Dentist.  Referral to Periodontist (gum specialist) may be in order if severe infection.

Bleeding gums: You are doing the right thing, namely seeing a doctor (hopefully a dentist) for an evaluation and the cause of your bleeding gums. There's nothing to be scared about. Just begin the appointment by letting the doctor know that you are apprehensive and why.  Your dentist is there to help diagnose your problem and get you on the path to good dental health.

Contact dentist firs: When was the last time you had a dental checkup?  It is very difficult to ascertain without a clinical and possible radiographic examination.  It may be as simple as you need an excellent cleaning or  you may need to see your MD.

1 mth ago i had 2 teeth pulled. is it normal for me to still be pulling pieces of tooth out my gums? it was even bleeding bad last night?

Unusual: Sometimes pieces of bone may work itself out and may be mistaken for tooth fragments.  See your dentist that removed the tooth and have the extraction sites looked at to make sure everything is fine.

Gum swelling: Most probable cause is infection, tooth and/or gum.  Requires immediate care by a Dentist.  Do not delay.

i brush twice a day using an electric toothbrush. as well as floss at night and use mouthwash twice per day. why do my gums still bleed?

Inflammation: There is a false sense of security that brushing and flossing 2x day will either prevent or cure most dental problems. When is the last time you had a professional dental cleaning and exam? If your teeth have calculus deposits, or if you have pocketing, all the brushing and flossing in the world will not make you gums healthy. Have a local dentist examine you and make recommendations for care.

why do my gums get irritated easily? i brush 2x a day, floss at night, no bleeding, have no plaque or recession bcs of regular dental cleaning, they still get irritated around the gum line, esp after flossing. am i doing it wrong? brushing too hard?

my legs are covered in bruises and my shins hurt. i've had problems with nause, bleeding gums, and night sweats.

Have a medical check: You should go see your doctor and have them check you and run some simple tests like a CBC and platelet count. I hope you do not have low platelet count. This would be my first thought. But many blood disorders can cause bruising especially if the platelets counts are low due to lack of production in the bone marrow or increased consumption like in itp.

hi, i have a 2 year old who has bad breath. i do brush his teeth but i noticed that his gums bleed when i brush his teeth. he has runny nose and snores at night. how can i help my son to have fresh breath?

See a dentist: There are  a few possible causes for your son’s bad breath and bleeding gums.He may have enlarged tonsils or adenoids which are causing the mucous production and snoring and probably mouth breathing while sleeping.This can lead to bad breath. It also sounds like his gums are inflamed (the bleeding) which may be from the same cause.Your pediatrician, a pediatric dentist, and ENT specialist can help
