What is sensation ?: Please elaborate on what exactly you are feeling. Better yet, see your dentist that prescribed the antibiotics for you. The antibiotics did not treat the cause of the abscess, just the sypmtoms. You still need dental care.

Urgent: This can be a facial cellulitis (skin infection) and that is an emergency. You should seek medical care immediately if you have not yet had medical care. If you are not under treatment the infection, if present, can spread to the veins leading to the brain.

See a dentist: No, an abscess may not have surfaced if it was due to a minimally invasive organism(s).  You should get this looked at asap since you do not want whatever is causing this to extend beyond the area in which it is now located.  That could be extremely severe and in some cases even life-threatening.

how long does a tooth abscess last? i have a hole in tooth so it's draining, and i take 500mg of amoxicillin twice a day. just started taking the antibiotics last night. when should the swelling in my gums/face go down?

Are : Are you being treated by a dentist or are you self medicating? The infection may never resolve without treatment, so it's tough to say how long you will be swollen for.

Antibiotics alone will not solve the problem in your gums and face. If your tooth is full of food and bacteria, the toxins embedded in there are leaching out the end of the tooth... That is why you have the infection.

Your tooth will either need extraction or root canal therapy, both of which need to be performed by a dentist. Make an appointment to be seen before your situation becomes worse.

i have swollen face and gums and severe toothache i am taking amoxicillin for the abcess can i take 100mg of cataflam (diclofenac) for the pain?

See a dentist now: Taking antibiotics will not solve your problem, only prolong the inevitable... A dental visit. The infection may  require drainage. Failure to treat can allow the infection to spread.

Second opinion: Amoxicillin is an antibiotic given to control infection, but you may need to see an oral surgeon or an endodontist (both dental specialists) to determine where the infection is coming from so that you can intercede

Abscess gum: Try warm salt water (1 tsp salt w 8oz cup warm water (not if you have high blood pressure) than see a dentist asap, it could be periodontal disease, root canal etc...
