Growth Hormone: While there are many uses for growth hormone, increasing bone thickness is not one of them. High dheas doesn't: Necessarily mean elevated adrenal hormones. It won't cause jaw growth. Growth plates close after puberty is completed. A wrist x-ray can check if your still have open growth plates or not.

The standard: test is a hand/wrist xray.  "Bone age"(the status of the growth plates relative to sex and age-matched averages) is determined by comparing the xray to published standards.

: Describe hard. There is a type of uncommon fracture that occurs only inside the growth plate but I doubt that is what you mean. The growth plate contains spongy/rubbery cartilage like material  and the osteoblasts that forms bone. it is tolerant on the common mechanical stresses of physical activity. In science almost anything is possible.

: There are many subtle changes of puberty that can continue after linear growth stops (growth plates closed). The verifiable way to know growth plates have closed would include an x-ray of the wrist/hand where there are several evident growth centers in the finger bones.

Not likely...: By 21 years of age most human beings have reached their adult height. It is not likely your spine is going to take off on it's own and grow "a few inches" while the rest of your bones stay the same! not to worry. Physical height won't hold you back unless you're dead set on being a pro basketball player!
