i've had groin pain come and go twice in the last week, each episode lasted a few days. about a week ago i was standing and talking and suddenly had a weird pain in my groin.  it progressively got worse throughout the day.  i couldn't walk without limping

Another : Another possibility, although you mentioned that you did  not think this was related to exercise, is that this could also be the sportman's hernia or sports hernia, gilmore's groin or groin disruption, is a medical condition of the groin affecting athletes.  Following physical activity, the person may be stiff and sore, the following day, getting out of bed or a car may be difficult. Any exertion that increases intra-abdominal pressure, such as coughing, sneezing, or sporting activity can cause pain. In the early stages, the person may be able to continue playing their sport, but the problem usually gets progressively worse.

As pain in the groin and pelvis can be referred from a number of problems, including injuries to the lumbar spine, the hip joint, the sacro-iliac joint, the abdomen, and the genito-urinary system, diagnosis of athletic pubalgia requires skillful differentiation and pubic examination in certain cases where there is intense groin pain.

Consider hernia: As follow up to the other answer, with this new information i'd like to add that you should consider a direct hernia as well.  Again, it is important that your doctor examine you to determine this and/or guide proper further workup.

Lots of causes: Arthritis is the most common cause of groin pain. Other common causes would be hip impingement or a cartilage tear. Infection is very serious cause of hip pain that usually is very rapidly progressing and is often accompanied by fevers, chills, etc. You should have this evaluated asap.

Groin pain: If you had hernia repair and the pain started after that, there's a good chance either scar tissue developed and trapped adjacent tissues in it or there was some nerve damage done.

First family doctor: See your doctor first, your pain-may not be related to your colonoscopy, you may have a hernia, or diverticulitis, or some thing else , after examination & tests will treat you  or refer you to a specialist may be surgeon , depending on the findings.

yesterday i had hip/groin pain and today i still have it but less severe and i went on a walk and it got worse again should i keep going on walks i think i pinched the nerve so maybe it will help un pinch it?

: Pain from the pinched nerve or radiculopathy usually radiates down to the leg posteriorly and you do not have pain if you lie flat on your bed then flexing the ipsilateral hip. If you have pain when doing that, problem will be from the hip joint. You should be active and take ibuprofen as I advised previously. If pain does not improve by Monday or Tuesday, you need to see a doctor by then.

Back pain: The persistent pain may be due to a signicant disc herniation or sacroiliac joint inflammation. See a neurosurgeon or pain management physician for evaluation and treatment.
