my five year old still wets the bed every night (enurises). he has never had a dry night. he is still wet mornings if we take him to wee at 22:30. what can i do (cape town based) to investigate. we follow good practice in terms of foods and liquids?

Some basics: This is not uncommon &amp; often also affected one parent. These kids tend to have smaller bladders. About 10%/yr become dry with no help. A baseline urine test is usually done but rarely abnormal. There are meds that reduce urine formation at night, but I never use them. The most consistent help is attained using wetting alarms that wake the kid when the starts to pee. These can be bought on line.

Testing advised: A female in her 20s with urinary symptoms such as painful urination, increased frequency, incomplete emptying, urgency, pelvic pain, fever, nausea/vomiting or low back pain should at least be tested for a urinary tract infection (UTI) and consideration for other possible causes (STD, meds, etc.). Risk factors include recent sexual intercourse, recent spermicide use or history of UTI.

You need help: I would suggest you to talk with your parents or somebody you trust about your problem. it seems that you are having quite significant psychological stress these days. If you are thinking about harming yourself of others- please stop the thought and remove it from your mind. there is always the end of a tunnel, don't give up. seek for help. be strong when you are weak, be brave when you are down.

Be Careful with this: You can lose a great deal of weight on a liquid diet, but it must be balanced so you do not lose important electrolytes. It must also contain the right Amino Acids ( the building blocks of proteins) and essential fats your body cannot make itself.  In the 70s people died on poor products. In short, don't try this without medical supervision as it can become life threatening very quickly.

I am not: aware of any diet that can help or hurt your appendix.  Recent studies suggest that certain viral infections might increase your chances of developing acute appendicitis, but this just an association, not cause and effect.  And you really can't do much to prevent all viral infections.

is washing spoon and fork (with dish washing liquid) that fell on the floor good enough? or shall they be replaced?

IF I: replaced every dish/utensil I had dropped  on the floor I would be better off buying the dish company.....Washing in HOT water and detergent should certainly be sufficient but if you are worried for some reason I do  not see...use BOILING water....

It is normal: For toddlers that age to have an appetite that changes from day to day and meal to meal. Don't worry as long as your toddler continues to grow normally. If you are really worried go in for a height and weight check to be sure all is well.
