Testing advised: A female in her 20s with urinary symptoms such as painful urination, increased frequency, incomplete emptying, urgency, pelvic pain, fever, nausea/vomiting or low back pain should at least be tested for a urinary tract infection (UTI) and consideration for other possible causes (STD, meds, etc.). Risk factors include recent sexual intercourse, recent spermicide use or history of UTI.
