why are my total protein and globulin levels high?

Need more info: It is likely that your gamma globulins are increased causing increase in total proteins. There are many causes of elevated gamma globulins such as, inflammation, liver disease, especially cirrhosis, bone marrow diseases and autoimmune disorders, chronic infections including AIDS, See this site for more info and consult your doctor.

Yes: Yes but this should be repeated as there are many causes for elevated Globulin. This is a non specific finding.

Need for evaluation: High protein diet does not increase serum globulins. An enlarged spleen warrants an investigation to determine the cause and you need to consult your doctor for that.

Unrelated: your blood test result isn't related to the tingling you have in your arm and hands, it could be a pinched nerve or carpal tunnel syndrome, you may want to check with your doctor or ask for referral to a neurologist if problem persists, wish you wellness

There is a very: characteristic skin rash that accompanies celiac disease: dermatitis herpetiformis.  Typically this is a skin manifestation of non-celiac wheat sensitivity. Extremely itchy bumps or blisters appear, especially on the forearms.The lab abnormalities you describe are not typical for celiac; in fact serum globulins may be low. I suspect more than one diagnosis; continue working closely with her Doctor

Not likely: You can not tell that  you have increased globulin by Albumin alone, you will need a total protein to see that. 

18 year olds very very very rarely have myeloma. This Albumin is not so low, check both labs again and stop worrying.

Dehydration.: There are no diseases that specifically increase albumin. Therefore in order to get an elevated concentration there must be a decrease in the amount of water in the system.   This would also account for the normal globulin.  Calcium is bound to Albumin so that elevated Albumin will elevate your calcium levels as well.

See your doctor: Without actual numbers, I can't be of much help.  You should definitely be fully worked up, with protein and urine electrophoresis, and X-rays of your pelvis and hip.

Levels may be up in a host of illnesses too numerous to name, or you may simply be a bit high because you're one of the several percent of people who fall outside a range that is set so that several percent of healthy folks fall outside. You list yourself as having "colitis" and ulcerative colitis, crohn's and antibiotic colitis can raise it.
