Possible, not likely: After having a miscarriage your periods may take some time to return to normal.  It is possible to ovulate and get pregnant even prior to having a normal period. If you don't want to be pregnant, be sure to use some method of birth control. And if your periods have not returned to normal by perhaps 3 months after your miscarriage, it's time to see a doctor. Depends: If you are breast feeding you may not get a period until you stop breast feeding or cut it down to 1-2 times a day, if u are not breast feeding you should usually get a period by 10 weeks after delivery , if it has been 10 weeks and no period you need to see your OB and i assume your OB did a post partum exam at 5-6 weeks like I do with all of my pts.

A : A molar pregnancy is a very high-risk, complicated issue, and your abnormal bleeding must be evaluated.  Please see your gynecologist immediately for a re-evaluation.

Perimenopause.: Women going to perimenopause can develop irregular periods. The reason is thickening or the endometrium from the anovulatory cycles which happens going thru menopause. Thick endometrium means more bleeding from estrogen dominance on women cycle. This situation can be corrected by hormone pills. See your gyn.

Definitely possible: But if you're pregnant a urine test should be positive.  It is common to not resume normal menses for a couple months after d;c.  See your doctor about menstrual regulation after you use a home pregnancy test.

If : If it is just one irregular period, we tend to overlook it.  If your periods aren't irregular there can be many causes.  Best to have an exam and possibly blood work and an ultrasound to investigate.

Not likely: If you are two days late then an over the counter pregnancy test should highly reliable.  At age 19 having another baby right after your first is really something to think about. Please consider starting birth control so you can focus on the challenges of being a teen mother.

Implantation bleed: Some women may experience menstrual cramps in early stages of pregnancy as result of 'implantation bleed', as the embryo implants into the lining of the uterus. The small of amount of bleeding may irritate the uterus and may cause the uterine discomfort.

Tests are accurate: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon.
