Xanax (alprazolam): No the prescription has to be written by a Physician you can go to your local ER and see if they can give you one till you find a PCP

Consider this a : Denial. Please see a university psychiatrist. Get into therapy. Consider exercise, acupuncture, tai chi, meditation, herbal options, l-theanine, yoga and naturopathic solutions if you are down on western medicine. Many meds will not work in the presence of drugs or alcohol, so if those are present you may will have to have those treated first. Genetic testing of your mthfr status could be helpful.

Call your doctor : I see that you're on xanax (alprazolam), (alprazolam) but i don't see Klonopin or ativan.  I suggest contacting the physician prescribing your medications and asking him/her about this.  Ativan may cover in a pinch, but may not be exactly equivalent to xanax (alprazolam).

i have adhd as well as severe anxiety problems. i take xanax (alprazolam) as needed for anxiety. in 3rd grade took strattera-didn't work. should i get prescription for adhd?

Medical evaluation: Severe anxiety in a teenage female first benefitted by a general medical evaluation and blood tests.  Care must be taken to rule out mitral valve prolapse which is highly associated with panic attacks, & one manifestation of this is a systolic murmur.  This condition seems to be more frequent in women with joint hypermobility syndrome (jhs).  See the brighton criteria for jhs.  Valerian root herb?

Get a doctor: Xanax is a controlled substance which has addiction liability as well as inducing drowsiness.  The prescriber needs both a state license and a federal DEA license to prescribe it. You should be evaluated to determine if this or any medication is needed in your situation . Good luck.

Depends: Since it is a heavily abused medication, most physicians will be cautious about prescribing it without determining if it really is the only option for someone. Having said that, it can be a good medication to treat some patients, if used correctly. Many physicians will ask patients on it to sign a controlled substance agreement to make sure it is not abused. Good luck to you!

No: Taking 1 mg instead of your regular 0.5 mg will be ok. You may be more sleepy, but it will not be dangerous to you.
