More acid?: Increased gastric acid often accompanies hunger which may exacerbate your gerd--check with your doc about an antiacid.

Depends on cause: If it is due to hiatal hernia, that may require surgical correction. If you are overweight, it would help to lose weight (easier said than done).
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

hello. im going to start a 3 day fast, and only consuming water within those 3 days. the only health problem i have currently is gerd, and anxiety. am i still able to do this safely?

: What do you expect to accomplish from a three day fast? If your aim to lose weight, you need a longer term plan than short term fasting. It is likely that you can do it safely, but it may not be effective for what you are trying to achieve.

Yes: If both are untreated, they can cause nausea. It can be a vicious cycle. The constant worrying can cause worsening of the gerd and then more worrying from the physical symptoms experienced. You should see your doctor and get treatment (not just the gerd but the anxiety as well). Treatment for the anxiety may significantly reduce your gerd symptoms.

Diazepam: If tapering was done gradually, yes the symptoms will subside over time. Also, discuss with your prescribing doctor other alternatives to treat anxiety without worsening your gerd symptoms.

Chest pain?: Chest pain should be taken seriously. If this is a symptom you have consistently suffered with your reflux, it may not be an emergency. Anxiety secondary to withdrawal from any potentially addictive substance can prompt chest discomfort - often in concert with other withdrawal symptoms like: sweating, elevated heart rate, nausea, palpitations, shortness of breath, craving,  and headaches. At your age: I don't think you should be too worried at least about the heart pounding.  That is pretty normal after a realistic seeming nightmare.  Nightmares cause a significant adrenaline release which increases the rate and force of contraction of the heart...a normal response.

i have gerd and anxiety. i am supposed to take omeprazole and pepcid twice a day and now celexa 10 mg. is celexa and pepcid and omeprazole a good mix or bad? what else can i take for gerd that will be okay

Accepted Answer

Gerd: Taking pepcid and omeprazole simultaneously appears redundant. You can also take antacids like carafate or mylanta. Don't forget lifestyle changes like not lying down until 2 hours after a meal or after drinking caffeinated beverages. Avoid spicy and oily foods.
