All depends how bad is symptoms and type of hernia. In those case surgical intervention and treatment is needed.

Start with  and evaluation by your primary physician.

Pepcid,protonix: Taking both simultaneously is redundant. For short term use(14 days) protonix is satisfactory, but for long-term use I recommend pepcid.
