No. : Dumping syndrome is comprised of symptoms such as bloating, pain, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, lightheadedness, etc. That occur after gastric (stomach) surgery.  Such procedures for ulcers, cancer, and nowadays more commonly bariatric procedures like roux en y gastric bypass are known to produce dumping syndrome.  This is due to the pyloric valve of the stomach being bypassed or removed.

I  have to assume that your are considering some type of wt loss surg.

Dumping syndrome may or may not cause wt loss.

It is described by patients as a minor problem, but other patients as quite a problem.  There is no way to predict how you will react as to having it, or to the serverity.

Quality of life is the main motivating factor, but insurance coverage is a whole different ballgame. Not dumping: It's not dumping syndrome if your stomach is still intact, and hiatal hernias do not cause that syndrome. A large hiatal her is. Also called a paraesophageal hernia may be responsible for some of those symptoms. This is usually diagnosed with upper GI contrast study and upper endoscopy.

: If you mean Inguinal hernia- it should not cause "dumping syndrome' before or after repair. For your symptoms I think you should see a GI doctor for correct diagnosis and treatment.

GERD: The procedure is performed on patients who are not having a good quality of life inspite if maximum medical treatment and lifestyle modification. Long term benefit is not guaranteed although short and medium term benefit is generally reported by patients. Seems like you are aware of risks as well. Good luck

Avoid SuGAR: Dumping syndrome is the lightheadedness, shaky, jittery, sleepy feelings that go with having a low blood sugar. These symptoms occur about 1 hour after eating or drinking something with sugar. Check labels. Make sure less than 4 gm sugar. Avoid orange juice, sweet tea, regular soda, and obvious sweets, mints, candy. Low blood sugar can be dangerous.  Focus on sugar-free.

Dumping syndrome: Not quite the same. Gallbladder pain is usually in the right upper quadrant, right under your ribcage. Dumping is more of a generalized abdominal cramping, plus cold sweats, heart palpitations, maybe diarrhea.
