my c.a.t scan shows i have an ovarian cyst and gallstones. which issue should i take care of first? do i have to remove my gallbladder?

Not necessarily: The ovarian cyst should resolve on it's own, and is not likely to need intervention.  The gallstones and gallbladder only need removed if they are causing symptoms, and inflammation of  the gallbladder.  Many people are walking around with gallstones, and don't know it.

i have right achey pain from below my ribs to my  upper back and nauseous on and off since november . saw gyn and had an ultrasound .. negative for ovarian cysts, fibroids , iud misplacment and endometriosis. pcp didn't think it waw my gallbladder.

Gallbladder: Hi, considering the location of pain it sounds more like gallbladder or liver issue. You should have an ultrasound gallbladder related. And have your liver enzymes checked, and your bilirubin levels checked.

if i had my gall bladder removed and use to have the iud 6 yes ago, also had an ovarian cyst. am i still able to get pregnant?

Family Practice: Your gallbladder has no affect on getting pregnant.  Having an ovarian cyst usually doesn't either unless you have poly cystic  disease. It makes it harder but with treatment pregnancy may occur.

Please call the doc : Who did your surgery, they know what they did and how it went, that is included in your post op care the doc is supposed to answer all ?S like this and do the proper txment if there is a problem.

Abdominal pain: Get an evaluation.  It is not clear when your latest surgery occurred.  You could possibly have new adhesions.  See your surgeon for an evaluation and ultrasound or cat scan of the abdomen.

Schedule follow up: Usually people are feeling pretty normal 9 days after a laparoscopic surgery. If you are still having pain then it is important to schedule a follow up post op visit with the doctor who did your surgery to make sure all is ok.

May still be apendix: Pain in RLQ concerning for appendicitis, ectopic pregnancy &amp; ovarian torsion.  A simple pregnancy test rules out ectopic.  CT us usually the tool for appendicitis.  Did they use oral and IC contrast?  (Oral is chalky stuff you drink, IV makes you feel hot all over).  If contrast given, appendicitis less likely..  Lymph nodes likely "mesenteric adenitis", which is OK.  if worsens, go back to doc

Yes: Anything that affects the normal blood circulation and hormones in your body will affect the ovaries and your monthly cycles.

No: There is no relationship between the two.

Accepted Answer

Sometimes: Most ovarian cysts result from how an egg develops.  Sometimes an egg doesn't release normally and the hormones can become mixed up.  This is most common in adolescents and in women approaching menopause.   You should talk to your gyn provider about what you are experiencing and how to treat it.
