Yes: You should see a doctor. It sounds to me like could be some allergens causing you to cough like that. There are many good medications that can help you out.

Get checked: If this has been an ongoing problem for more than a couple of weeks, then you likely either have chronic rhinitis or bronchitis.  An evaluation can help to pinpoint the problem (anything from allergies, chronic irritation, lung problems, structural sinus problems, etc).  Getting it to stop will depend upon the primary problem. Cough : Probably due to dry mouth, post nasal drip, sinus congestion or disease, allergy and asthma.  If you have congestive heart failure, especially left sided failure, pulmonary edema can cause coughing. If your symptoms worsen or if pain and shortness of breath is associated, i'd recommend you see your internist.

Go see your doctor: Without more information, it's difficult to give more specific ideas. First, if you smoke, it's time to stop. Second, if you're short of breath, you may be experiencing reactive airway disease and be in need of a short acting bronchodilator such as albuterol. Third, if you have a fever, it's a good idea to go see your family doc to see if you have pneumonia. Most bronchitis is viral so no antibiot.

Allergies/dry throat: Do not understand the .He is fitting fit....But cough only in the morning and then fine all day could be related to a dry throat or allergies. Sometimes there are allergens in the child's room...Like stuffed animals in the bed, carpet, dust mites. Generally it is not a big issue unless it is interrupting sleep, affecting appetitie or going on for a while. Ask your pediatrician as well.

Smoking: Don't!  this is a common cause of persistence of bronchitis because it interferes with several of the immune mechanisms the tracheobronchial tree uses to prevent or minimize infection. To say nothing of all the other problems cigarettes cause.
