Then, prepared, give it a try if you want and see if you're pro or con. Consider alternatives to pills too. Accupuncture, massage, ortho, yoga, etc. Try things in a sequence that lets you easily move on to the next candidate w/out w/drawal.

: This site is not for issuing prescriptions. You may try acetaminophen for pain relief. No more than 4 g/day, no alcohol. A prescription would require for a doctor to examine you and assess your clinical condition.

i have tried to space gabapentin dosages evenly during the day. however, i have fallen asleep many times before the last dosage was due and missed it. i am taking it for lumbago with sciatica pain. can this make my condition worse or cause others?

: Due to a short half-life, gabapentin is best taken every 8 hrs.  Since it provides merely mild suppression of "nerve pain", missing a dose at worse would only eventuate in an accentuation of symptoms.  Gabapentin does NOT cure anything, so it does not result in deterioration if stopped. Not sure what you mean by "cause others".

Not bad: Gabapentin is not known to have particularly problematic kidney effects.

Gabapentin: is not a controlled substance and does not have withdrawal. Good if it works.
sciatica is from a nerve being attacked by something. The nerve can become permanently damaged. It is usually from a disk hitting the nerve.

Meds?: The abnormal enzymes are not a good sign.  It might be from tumor in the liver or more likely, medication (cytoxan or neurontin) side effects.  She needs to get  off those rightr away and see her doctor soon.   It can also (rarely) be a late side effect from general anesthesia  (a few weeks or months).  Gall bladder problems can also cause this.

i am currently on gabapentin 1200 mg a day and was wondering if since it's not working good should i try lyrica (pregabalin) ?

Gabapentin lyrica (pregabalin): usually if gabapentin does not appear to be working switching to lyrica (pregabalin) is reasonable. You also might want to try Horizant as the bioavailability is better.
