I have tried to space gabapentin dosages evenly during the day. however, i have fallen asleep many times before the last dosage was due and missed it. i am taking it for lumbago with sciatica pain. can this make my condition worse or cause others?

Due to a short half-life, gabapentin is best taken every 8 hrs. Since it provides merely mild suppression of "nerve pain", missing a dose at worse would only eventuate in an accentuation of symptoms. Gabapentin does NOT cure anything, so it does not result in deterioration if stopped. Not sure what you mean by "cause others".
