Tinea cruris: There are a number of effective antifungal agents available.  Creams or powder for athlete's foot is also effective for tinea cruris.
If you have tinea pedis (athlete's foot) as well, always put on socks before wearing underwear.

Fungous infection: If the fungous infection has been on your feet for a long time, it can spread to the lymph nodes in your groin. You probably would need an oral ringworm medication if it is a ringworm. For other infections in the groin, like a bacterial infection, an antibiotic would be indicated. A dermatologist might be the one to consult with.

Antifungal ointments: Skin fungus (ringworm) is best treated with over the counter antifungal lotions containing agents such as miconazole, terbinafine, clotrimazole, ketoconazole, or tolnaftate.  These can be applied twice a day for about 10 days.
A 2% iodine solution applied three times a day with a swab for three weeks may work if antifungals are not available.

Tinea capitis: If your brother is being treated properly  with oral &amp; local antifungal medications, he should  not be  contagious  after 48 hrs of starting the treatment,  don't share towels &amp; sheets,  his should  be washed in hot water, dried  in dryer,  &amp; if possible ironed. i have ringworm on my arm and i've been putting anti fungus cream on it. it's getting smaller but it's so itchy is there anything to help with that?

Antihistamine: You can take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) 25 mg or something like Claritin or Zyrtec 10 mg for itching.  Claritin or Zyrtec is less sedating  although benadryl (diphenhydramine) may work better.  Be patient.  It may take 6 weeks for the fungus to clear

Absolutely not!: While both mushrooms and ringworm are called fungus, they at very different indeed.  Ringworm or tinea are consider dermatophytes which means they are fungus that only grow on skin cells.  So no, mushrooms will not give you ringworm.
