End stage cancer patients and other critically ill patients on strong IV antibiotics can also get this.  If you have fungal meningitis you probably would not be able to write the email.

Fungal meningitis: There are several fungi that not infrequently cause meningitis. Among these are cryptococcus, coccidiodes, and rarely histoplasma and blastomyces. Without knowing whether you are referring to these or to the patients who received injections of contaminated steroids into their spinal column cannot answer your question very clearly. Meningitis has nothing to do with your throat directly.

No: I know of no association.  But if you are losing bone, don't ignore it.  See a dental bone specialist, a Periodontist, to find out what is causing your bone loss and what you can do to halt the process.

having recurrent fungal ear infections since 2/2021. i go to the ent every time. given acetic drops/ ofloxacin/antibios each time. now i have chronic sinusitis, is this the cause? can recurrent infections cause complications like meningitis? scared.?

: I've never seen it, but chronic untreated sinusitis can cause meningitis. You should be in good hands as you're being treated and followed by an ENT specialist. However I recommend having a complete medical examination including appropriate lab work because of your recurrent fungal infections and chronic sinusitis.

Check with hospital: The fungal infections emanated from a contaminated batch of a specially compounded steroid/analgesic preparation.  Your hospital will know whether or not they purchased and used this particular compound.   
If your mom is not ill now, it is very unlikely that she will become so.  But never hurts to check.

What age?: This will differ according to the age of the child.  Generally meningitis presents with fever, sensitivity to light and sound, headache, stiff neck, nausea and vomiting, changes in mentation and possibly localizing neurological abnormalities.  In preverbal children there may be listlessness, failure to feed, difficult in arousal, irritability, and other non-specific manifestations.
