i have pityriasis rosea. i have taken steroids, and im currently taking hydroxyzine pamoate 25mg. i have used a multitude creams. i have severe itch. i wanted to know could i be prescribed something more effective. this itch is taking over me. ?

Multilayer approach: Try a multilayer approach. Topical Calamine or topical anesthetic, oral antihistamines (claritin, allegra) Benadryl for night, and oral steroids to reduce the itchiness in 3 different ways. Pityriasis Rosea usually clears itself in 7-9 months.

Pityriasis ? scabies: Pityriasis is rash thought to be caused by virus; can itch. Usual treatment is steroid cream & lubricant cream to soothe irritation. Can also take otc antihistamine like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or zyrtec to calm itch. Scabies is parasite, usually seen a reddish, short burrows between fingers but may spread to other areas. Very itchy. Treatment is rx scabicide cream. Try zyrtec; if not better, see doc again.

Scar treatment: Most scar creams are anecdotally successful & may work early on-silicone based creams probably work best.  Most treatment to improve the appearance of scars like this use special technology to remodel the skin. See doctor: It may not be pitryasis rosea. It would be prudent to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Have a healthy diet, exercise, drink plenty of water, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

If it's really PR: there is no treatment necessary. We give topical steroids only for symptomatic itching.

No.: But not effective, no difference.

Have it looked at.: First, lard has no known therapeutic effect when applied to the skin.  Second, if you had pityriasis rosea 2 years ago it's unlikely that you have it again, and a herald patch shouldn't last almost 3 months anyway. Have a dermatologist look at it - because it could be any number of things, and if it's been there that long it deserves a proper diagnosis.
