hi, my baby has a rash around his knee area on one leg. been there for a while. i tried using creams and lotions, but it hasn't gone away. what is that and is it serious? is there a way to attach the picture?

: The best way to diagnose a rash is to have the rash seen by a doctor. An evaluation by a dermatologist may be needed-especially if the rash is not going away in spite of treatment. You don’t say how old the child is or exactly what you have tried but it is probably time to have this rash seen by a doctor, starting with the child’s doctor and then a dermatologist, if needed. Do what derma says.: Duracan is an antifungal that can be used to treat ringworm. The elica m cream contains another antifungal as well as a steroid. This antifungal treats the ringworm, and the steroid just helps the ringworm be less red and itchy. There are lots of ways to treat ringworm. It is harder to kill fungus on nails so be sure to follow up with your dermatologist whenever you're supposed to go back.

i have psoriasis.  i have a patch of psoriasis on my arm slightly less than the size of a quarter.

for at least two weeks maybe three weeks there has been a scab over the spot. it will bleed sometimes.

it is not like the typical psoriasis of flakey skin. 
i have applied neosporin ointment and triamcinolone cream.

what is the issue?  treatment?

is there a way to share a picture?

i have never used this service before!  this is a first experience!

Psoriasis: Sometimes skin conditions like psoriasis can become infected or irritated more than usual. When this happens and it is important to treat, I would recommend that you do a video encounter where the doctor can see your rash and then make a better recommendation or send a prescription to your pharmacy online. Or you can consult with your usual doctor about it.

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE, ASK THE DOCTOR WHO PRESCRIBED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Yes: it may not be as potent but but generally the expiration date is a very conservative number and 4 months will not represent a major change in potency.

It depends: Upon why you're applying it to your penis. Only do it if recommended by your physician for a specific medical problem. Don't just start applying it to see if it helps. That's a good way to cause more problems.

The only thing we have over the counter here that is similar is low potency hydrocortisone. If Fucicort isn't working, I doubt hydrocortisone will. You might have to try getting a prescription for something else.

Fucicort cream is a: topical steroid and if put on abraded skin it can irritate it and delay healing. I would use topical antibiotic ointment and see derm if not clear in a week or 2

Treat a fungal rash: Ketoconazole cream should help with a rash that is caused by fungus, such as athlete's foot, jock itch or ringworm. If the rash isn't caused by fungus, it won't work -so I think you need to send a pic to a doctor here on Health Tap or a doctor in person. Fungus will attack under certain circumstances -like moisture, uncontrolled blood sugars (poor diet), other weaknesses etc, so try to fix those.

is it safe to use fucicort antibiotic cream on my anal tear?

Also a steroid:: Fucicort contains Betamethasone which can slow healing of the tear.
