Remember that eating too much dried fruit is not healthy, because all fruits have natural sugar.

A bit less . . .: In general, heat used to dehydrate fruit causes loss of heat-sensitive nutrients such as Vitamin C. Aside from that 1/4 cup dried fruit is, for the most part, comparable to 1 cup fresh fruit, aside from H2O content. Sugars: No. Diabetes is a sugar problem. A healthy diabetic diet limits the amounts of sugars and carbohydrates in the diet.  A diabetic has to look at the whole day's calorie composition and make sure that sugars and carbs are low and that proteins are high.  Dried fruit and bananas are nearly 100% sugars.  Why would you consider adding sugar to the diet as healthy in a diabetic?

Avoid sugared ginger (just has too much sugar). One's nose will not change size, no matter what one does with his ginger.

i am 18 weeks pregnant ate an entire bag of corn tortilla chips (i know, unhealthy) but guaranteed fresh date was a week ago.i didn't know until i ate them.  will this hurt my baby?

No: it would be very unusual for your sutuatiuon to do harm to your baby. especially if the chips were sealed until you opened them. make sure you re on a prenatal vitamin with folate (folic acid) and you are not a smoker. good luck

REFRIGERATION: Refrigeration is needed to prevent  bacterial contamination of food, particularly meat and poultry.  Merchants make suggestions to safeguard against such spoilage, sometimes adding a day or two of safety.  If you get gastroenteritis from eating spoiled chicken, it will likely not affect your pregnancy, other than the muscular problems associated with vomiting.  In short, follow "common sense."
