Maybe something else: Foot warts sometimes cause pain. The pain can also be due to some other problem. Foot warts can cause pain by growing into the foot. This is more likely to happen if the warts are on the bottom of the foot. The person stands and walks on the warts, so they can't grow outward from the skin like a hand wart does. Instead, plantar warts have to grow into the foot and push up on foot tendons or bones.

Other procedure: Persistent plantar (bottom of foot) wart, despite multiple cryotherapy treatments is a clear indication that you need a different procedure to destroy wart.  Please see your clinician or a podiatrist, who can pare down the wart and burn it using electrodessication or laser, or use other techniques.

i've had a foot wart for a while, and i'm pregnant now. can this harm the pregnancy? because it's a virus? i don't suffer from the wart so i prefer not to have it treated if this is not necessary for my pregnancy?

: These warts are a localized infestation, like a barnacle on a boat bottom. They do not enter the bloodstream like common viruses.  You can treat it now or not, either way it has no impact on your pregnancy.

NO: Why Benadryl? Why topical antibiotic? Which antibiotic? A foot wart will not result in amputation or severe "complications" if treated or not.  This question makes no sense. What does your Dr say? Have you seen a dermatologist? Many "warts" are actually something else. Most topical antibiotics are useless and often harmful.

my 2 year old had a foot wart. the doctor scraped and put cantherone 1% on it the first time and .7% the second time. i thought nothing of it, but are there any long term consequences/risks of using this topical medication? she never got a blister?

: It is a topical treatment and not likely to result in side effects. Other options are available. Watch for signs of infection which may cause redness and discharge.

: Standard cleaning and laundry detergents are 100% effective in killing human papillomaviruse, and there is no possibility of your other clothing in the wash with the bath mat will have transmissible HPV. But even without these precautions, the chance you will inoculate the HPV causing your foot wart to a new body site is extremely low. Don't worry about it.

how can you prevent athletes foot, or warts, at the gym?

Prevention: Keep your feet dry and well-ventilated.  If showering at the gym, wear flip flops in the shower , and stand on a towel while dressing.  Warts are unlikely.  Athlete's foot can still be a problem, but these are some preventive steps.
