Sometimes: We can even twist our foot in bed or even unknowingly . Also varicose veins can cause it if you have deep ones, but you would usually have smaller ones on the surface. If both sides were swelling the causes would be more in number but much more limited since one sided.. Apply ice or heat and try Ibuprofen or aleve, (naproxen) limit salt and elevate the leg. An ace wrap might help too.

Not sure related: Abdominal bloating has many causes, and can't be fully addressed here.  Depends on location, timing with food, if localized or all over, what makes it better and worse, if it's associated with pain -- and a doctor should discuss this with you.  Gallbladder problems are most common.

Left foot swelling can also be from various things, but a blood clot is most dangerous.  Please see a doctor!  Luck!

Swelling: Often caused by venous insufficiency or lymphedema where fluid will accumulate in feet and legs: especially after being on feet or sitting with legs hanging down. Congestive heart failure is also a possibility. See your physician for proper evaluation and diagnosis.

: I assume there has been no trauma as the cause.  If you can pinpoint the throbbing pain &amp; swelling to a joint,especially the big toe, acute arthritis caused by gout would be most likely. Other possibilities could be a stress fracture, cellulitis ( a bacteria skin infection) or other inflammatory joint conditions. You should be examined by a physician for xray,accurate diagnosis &amp; proper treatment.

Yes, if too tight: If you wrap your knee too tight which prevents the blood/lymph from returning from the foot/leg to your heart, yes you can have swelling.
If you remove the wrapping and the swelling gets better, you got your anwswer.
If the swelling is persistent and/or if you have pain in the leg, calf etc...Consult doc because you may have a blood clot etc...

Low pressure, : Water leaks out of the vessels and can not be pumped out of the legs due to low pressure. Low pressure also reduces the blood flow to the kidneys, resulting in activation of hormones that cause fluid retention.
