Can athletes foot cause foot swelling?

No: It's very unsual for athlete's foot to cause swelling. Highly unlikely. I'm sure there's another cause of your foot swelling. I recommend that you have it evaluated by a board certified podiatrist.

Depends: If you have athlete's foot for a long time you can develop a secondary bacterial infection which can cause foot swelling.
