Need more info: Loss of cartilage in front of the ankle bone may in itself be arthritic in the sense that it will limit range of motion here.  This can cause pain elsewhere in the foot due to compensation and overuse.  Seems like you need some more diagnostics.

Sprain or fracture: Was it x-rayed? If it is not a missed fracture or widened mortise, your inactivity could be a cause.  Failure to dorsiflex your foot fully will cause metatarsalgia-forefoot pain. Plantar fasciitis although it is a really different problem is about the underside of the heel and is actually a bursa.  If it was neg/x-ray start runner's stretches and get the ankle loose.

It could: Plantar fasciitis, or an arch ligament strain is a very common reason for arch and heel pain in the boot of the heel.  If in back of the heel, it could be achilles tendonitis or bursitis.  If pain is strictly under the heel it may be bursitis.  

Other causes of heel pain can be tarsal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, a stress fracture, referred nerve pain among others.

While : While it's entirely possible to develop plantar fasciitis from an injury, by far, the most common presentation with plantar fasciitis is the slow, gradual onset of pain with no associated trauma.  Pain is commonly described as heel pain, worse especially after rest.

If you injured your foot back in july and you're still having pain, there is a fair chance you may have broken a bone or tore a ligament.  I would therefore say yes, by all means, go get this checked out.  I only hope that you haven't waited too long, because if it's been fractured or a ligament torn for all this time and you've been walking on it, the odds of a complete recovery at this point is severely compromised.

Please go to either a podiatrist or foot& ankle orthopedist and get checked out.

Plantar fasciitis: There are a lot more that can be done, from physical therapy to surgery.  The other thing to consider is that you may have something other than plantar fasciitis that mimics heel pain.  A revisit and revaluation seems like your best bet.  Good luck!

Plantar Fascitis: Stretch every morning your achilles tendon. Also if you have some spare time during the day stretch some more. Wear shoes with a heel. It will take some of the stresses off the achilles tendon.  Also take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication.  
Plantar fascitis can often take a year to treat.  Surgery is almost never necessary.

i have plantus fasciitis my right foot hurts. my knees esp my right one have hurt really bad for a week:( how bad does it have to be for surgery?:(

Real bad: Plantar fasciitis typically goes away 90% of the time, although it may take time.  Surgery is always the last resort and most guidelines recommend 3-6 months of treatment and failure of those nonsurgical treatments before considering surgery.  If you need a referral to a good foot doctor, i know of some in your area.  Best of luck.

NO: You're walking differently to avoid the painful area, thus putting undue pressure on other areas of the foot.

Possible: Your question as stated is answered with a yes of course. An MRI may be a revealing test for multiple issues in your foot and ankle.  BUT, an MRI is not always the magic answer.  You need to follow-up with your foot specialist/doctor and tell them of your new issues/symptoms and get an examination to see what, if any further testing is needed.  Best wishes.

my wife's foot hurts worse after cortisone shot for plantar fascitis. is it possible to damage a nerve during an injection?

Very common problem.: I give cortisone shots on a daily basis for plantar fascitiis.  However, i always tell my patients that the first 1-2 days they will have more pain than before then it will start to feel better after that.
