Orthotics: Semiflexible cushioning type orthotics are the first treatment for high arched feet (pea caves) and the type of pain (metatarsalgia) you are describing. See a podiatrist or an orthopedic foot specialist for a custom prescription. There are many cushioning over the counter inlays you can try first. A jogging shoe with cushioning can help ask for one with a curved last.

Plantar Fascitis: A band of tissue on the bottom of the foot that attaches from the heel bone all the way to your toes. It is short at rest and suddenly stretched when you put weight on it. It causes inflammation and does not easily go away without treatment. See a podiatrist to get help and relief. That is generally the most common reason for your particular complaint.

Could be neuropathy: Tarsal tunnel, herniated disc or radiculopathy from the back....right heel pain can be fascitiis or a sour..

: Sorry about your daughter. Your description is not enough information to go on. Swelling? Discoloration?  Etc. cause of pain. I recommend getting an x-ray and seeing a podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon

Support is needed: There is most likely some sort of strain in that area which involves either a tendon, plantar fascia or both.
Good supportive shoes are important , but insoles are also very important.  Most of the Over The Counter insoles do not provide enough support.   You may have to see a foot specialist to get evaluated and fitted for an appliance.

i had a low grade (99) fever come on precisely at same time with my bottom of foot pain (plantar fasciatis i think??). total coincidence or connected?

More information.: It is probably not connected, but without more information, it is impossible to be certain. Heel infections have been diagnosed as plantar fasciitis on more than one occasion. The results of the misdiagnosis can have serious consequences. To remove all doubt, have you foot evaluated by a foot specialist.
