Hemosiderin spots: After a fracture and a lot of swelling, hemosiderin (which is the stuff in a red blood cell that makes it red) can deposit in the skin causing brown spots. If they itch or are thickened i would seek the opinion of a dermatologist.

Stand and shoot: Once you can stand +/- an ankle brace, you can start sport-specific rehabilitation immediately, such as shooting without jumping, cutting, or pushing off with the injured foot. You will be able to advance as tolerated until you are cleared for normal individual drills and finally team drills once all pain with activities has resolved. Physical therapy can help guide you along a standard algorithm.

Depends.: You may just need physical therapy if the popping is from weakness or deconditioning. Check with your doctor to see if the popping may be present for other reasons.
