just recently did bloodwork test for gliadin ab, siga it it came in high at 56.  i have been gluten free for 4 years.  what else would cause that?

Nothing. It stays +: You did not mention if you are having any symptoms or what was the reason for doing the blood test. Your immune antibodies against the components of gluten will stay positive if your immune system considers it relevant. Just continue to strictly avoid eating anything with gluten. Keep in mind that even some medications contain gluten. No need to keep testing if the diagnosis is made.

It is triggered in genetically-determined persons by dietary exposure to gluten (protein found in wheat, barley, rye).  Your described symptoms, after gluten restriction, are atypical for cd so further investigation is recommended.

Not usually: The test result confirm that the symptoms that you may have may be due to a gluten sensitivity.  Thus, if you have no symptoms, then you may not have gluten sensitivity, even though the test is positive.

i have fecal anti-gliadin antibodies. through blood tests there was no sign of celiac. my secretory iga was a bit low as well. what does this mean? should i be completely gluten free? or just low doses? and what does secretory iga indicate? thank you?

: IgA is the group of antibodies that deal mostly with gut issues. If your natural IgA levels are low, the typical celiac screening blood tests are not reliable for celiac markers. I would discuss this with your treating doc who has your full history/exam and testing data.

zoey has been diagnosed with wheat, nut and egg allergy.  we have cut gluten, eggs and all nuts out of her diet.  now she is always hungry and pale.  she eats fruit and protein and gluten free products.  could this be celiac disease? help please

Test/ dietitian: Celiac differs some from wheat allergy by creating antibodies that attack the intestines as if they were a virus. These can be found on blood tests. Celiac is then confirmed through added tests for intestinal injury. Either way you may also need to sit down with a clinical dietitian to make sure she receives balanced nutrition in spite of your exclusions.
