No. but trouble: Food isusually natural food, albeit some of it is processed beyond belief.  But if you are  19 ears  old and weigh 73 pounds, i would fear that you are craving food because you are starving.  If you weigh 73 kg then  you should speak with a doctor or nutritionist about  what you eat and what can be substituted.

Lot of theories: None are perfect.  These stem around complicated hormonal patterns.  Other things that may be at play are classical conditioning like you may have heard related to Pavlov's dogs, stress, particular nutritional deficiencies and even physiologic addiction.

Eat healthy: Alternatives. Try snacking on carrots, celery, pickles,  cherry tomatoes, fruits.  Even pretzels can help since it's hard to eat too many pretzels! if you fill yourself on healthier snacks it will be easier to fight the junk food cravings. Exercise since it may reduce your appetite and make u more resolved to eat well.

Products: You can try different products such as lite salt or no salt.  There are also different spice combinations that may help such as ms. Dash.  Try looking at the spice aisle in your grocery.

Too complex: In a pure situation, a craving might suggest a real need in your body. It would be a natural way to guide a creature toward what is good at the time. We are mostly not pure. Many cravings are emotional and have little to do with need. Hormones may play a bit of a part too, but it might be indirect - working through emotional channels. It can be a mix of many things. Protein,H20 &grazing: We crave sugar, salt and fat when we go too long without eating, are addicted to junk food, have low energy, or get dehydrated. Protein meals stay with us longer;water fills us up and helps our digestion operate efficiently; and eating small snacks high in protein between meals(i.e. 10 almonds at 2pm) keeps us from feeling like we are "starving". Eat well frequently!
