my son is 13 months old and he throws up like, when he cries hard or sometimes with thicker foods. im not sure what's going on?

Accepted Answer

Delayed emptying: He may have slow emptying of his stomach so when he cries or has thicker foods that are hard to digest they sit longer and any bearing down movement (crying or taking a bm for example) may cause him to reflux or throw it up. A visit with your doc will help sort it out.

stepfather drinks three pints of bourbin a day. the last month he throws up any food he eats and really hasnt eatin for a week. is he dying?

Could be: He really needs to see a doctor. He could have an ulcer or liver disease from the alcohol abuse. Please encourage him to see a doctor as soon as possible.

Pregnant?: If youv&#x27;e had sex and have a uterus and at least one ovary, make sure you aren&#x27;t pregnant before considering other possibilities. Even if you are using birth control, check a pregnancy test to be on the safe side.

Many reasons: There are many reasons for you to feel like this.  Most likely you are lacking from an adequate amount of water or fiber in your diet which may be causing constipation.  Try increasing fluid intake.  There are other reasons for you to feel like this that should be evaluated by a physician.

when a food in a jar got bad (rotten or got mold on it) i throw the food rinse the jar and wash it in dishwasher. is it ok?

Accepted Answer

: Once the rotten food is removed and the jar is sanitized it should be ok to use. If overly concerned you can sterilize it in a pot of boiling water.

when my 16 month old daughter chokes on food she coughs until she throws up and she does this quite often. is this a problem?

Gag reflex: Some children have a sensitive gag reflex. Make sure the pieces she eats are small so they don't elicit a choke and don't allow her to shove too much food in her mouth at one time  If it's happening daily, or several times a day. you may want to ask your doctor. In most cases it's a part of normal eating behavior for some children

Plastic: It is likely not harmful to eat the plastic but there is a possibility it could get stuck in your throat and have to be removed so I would start that dish again. All the best.

You should not: Vomiting food can result in many problems - among them malnutrition, tooth enamel loss (and eventually tooth loss), burning of the esophagus, etc.  You should try to work with your PCP or perhaps a professional in behavioral health to figure out healthier ways to meet your weight goals.
