Could be: He really needs to see a doctor. He could have an ulcer or liver disease from the alcohol abuse. Please encourage him to see a doctor as soon as possible.

Could be....: He's an alcoholic, compensated or not. Cirrhosis may be present, as well as esophageal varices. Chronic alcoholic gastritis is likely present as well. He needs medical help, and family intervention!
