i've tried benadryl, sudafed and flonase for thumping in my ear.  it's only helped me a little bit. is there anything else i can do stop the thumping?

Yes: Nasal allergy can cause a stuffy nose and ache in your ears.  But, claritin, Niacin and Flonase will probably not affect your tinnitus.

ive been on clindamycin, prednisone and flonase for a sinus and ear infection. my fever is gone and i feel better except for my ear still plugged and congested. what can i take to get rid of ear congestion?

: Patience. The fluid trapped in the middle ear space will eventually leave over time. It can persist for weeks after all germs are dead. Much of the past medications offered to clear this do no good.

It may: Flonase is a nasal cortisone-type spray approved for treating the inflammation of allergic rhinitis.  It is common for people with allergies to have ear pressure/popping due to eustachian tube dysfunction--this can improve with medications such as flonase.

can flonase treat fluid in the ear even if it wasn't caused by allergies?

Unlikely: Although Flonase has been reported to be effective for certain non-allergic rhinitis, I am a little skeptical about this finding.  Thus it is likely more effective in decongesting the nose when the problem is allergic. Even then the chances are likely 50/50. If this problem has been present for more than a month , you need to see an ENT.

i was told by a physician's assistant that there are some people that need to keep using flonase long term to keep there ears open is that true?.

Not really: Flonase is a nasal steroid best used for allergic nasal conditions or nasal polyps.The Eustachian tubes are best cleared with nasal lavage and gargling with warm water: if severe, and if not hypertensive, you can use a 12 hr. nasal decongestant for no more than 2 days.

Need to see ENT: For assessment of your upper airways, middle ears are considered part of sinuses, you may also have Eustachian tube dysfunction, check with your doctor who may refer you to an ENT, meanwhile, if you haven't already done so, saline nasal washes can definitely help if done consistently everyday, good luck

what happens if you exhale out of your ears after taking flonase(using the applicator)? it says to exhale out of your mouth, which i always try and do, but sometimes it feels like it actually comes out of the ears. are there any issues with that?

: The technique to apply the nasal steroid may be reviewed. Point the nozzle away from the septum and breathe normally.Naaal saline rinses used prior to the spray often improve the use. Have a COVID 19 and Flu vaccine. Please follow up with your physician.

Get back on it: Give it a while to make sure it is not just your body's withdrawl from the drug.  If it persists, get back on it.  Thats why they make it.
