Most commonly, your issue would be muscle related and treatment for that would be massage, ice massage initially followed by hot moist packs, topical,and oral NSAIDs, and to rest the muscles involved for a few days. Evaluate Neck: If you are not improving have your doctor order a cervical spine mri.  Many times a herniated disc in the neck can cause arm pain especially if you have not improved with the medications and physical therapy.  If it is a herniated disc you may need evaluation from a spine specialist to determine what other options might be needed (injections, surgery, etc) to help reduce pain.

Depends: If you have long standing anxiety, see your pcp and an ssri like zoloft or Celexa may help. If this is  pain from recent acute stress or anxiety, some topical anesthetic like bengay with some tylenol (acetaminophen) and ibuptofen, and maybe a massage and warm bath may be more beneficial to work out the muscle cramp. But you should see your pcp to discuss further.
