Virginal/ruff contac: Skin will comfortably callous over time; too quick will cause additive tears. Cocoanut oil several times a day +slow down.
If this fails after 5 to 8 days, a thorough dermatological exam is a must. From nutrition to exotic infections & syndromes must be considered as well as as a herald of a more general malady.

This seems likely: A dermatology consult is advisable if you have disability. If this is dyshidrotic eczema, it's manageable. In the meantime, have you tried applying topical cortisol to your soles before bedtime each evening? Do this only if it's okay with your physician. There are a host of interventions that might help you, from compresses to a low-zinc diet; i'd be interested in what works.

May need culture: If a clinician has suspected this to be fungal in origin you may need a scraping of the heel and fungal culture.  Also you may require oral antifungals to treat this if prolonged use of the topical antifungals have not eliminated the infection.   Good luck!

May not be fungus: There are several causes of dry and cracked heels, including fungus.  However, dysfunctional glands in the skin can cause it as well and is in fact a more common cause.  There are many prescription creams to help with dry and cracked heels, including antifungal medications if it is caused by fungus.

Hand dermatitis: Fissures and dry wrinkly skin on hands are most often the signs of eczema, an itchy scaling rash that is associated with overdrying  and irritation of the skin.  To fix, use a mild soapfree cleanser to wash hands, moisturize with a fragrance-free cream, use rubber gloves with cotton liners to do housework, do not use gel sanitizers.  If that doesn't improve hands, please see your dermatologist.

i have a crack/fissure on the ball of my foot. hasn't gotten better with triple antibiotic and covering. is getting deeper and hurts more. what to do?

See a podiatrist: Who can make a recommendation. Sometimes, there may be a biomechanical etiology.

More likely: you also have HEMORRHOIDS most likely from either DIARRHEA (IBS-D) or CONSTIPATION (IBS-C) In either case ask the Gastroenterologist who diagnosed the IBS!!

Anal Fissures: Best treatment is eliminating the cause which is usually trauma secondary to hard bowel movements. If so try increasing the fiber in your diet and if stools are still hard take an over the counter stool softner as directed. If you are still having problems see your physician who may recommend other therapies such as nitroglycerine or nifedepine ointment, Botox or in some cases surgery.

Trauma.: Anal fissures are usually the result of trauma to the inner mucosal lining of the anus. Most commonly this occurs when the anal canal stretches after a hard, dry bowel movement. Other causes of a fissure include diarrhea or inflammatory conditions of the anal area. Less commonly, an anal fissure may result from foreign body insertion or anal intercourse.
