hello i take sertraline 50 mg and fioricet, bentyl and alprazolam only as needed.  dermatologist prescribed spirilolactone 100 mg. are there any interactions among all these? any important things i should know about the spirilolactone? thank you.

Drug interactions: Spironolactone is safe to take with your other medications. Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic (water pill) that prevents your body from absorbing too much salt and keeps your potassium levels from getting too low. Drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, or headache may occur. To minimize lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising.

hello yesterday i was prescribed the following: sertraline, bentyl, fioricet and alprazolam. doctor says no interactions between these. i would only take bentyl and alprazolam as needed. i need to be sure it is safe(no interactions) thank you.

Interaction : There is no drug drug interaction between Bentyl and alprazolam. Side effects for each will still apply and alprazolam has habit forming potential ( controlled).

will start taking skelaxin for muscle spasms. currently weaning off alprazolam 1mg. i also take sertraline 1mg, doxycycline 200 mg(rosacea type 2) and fioricet and bentyl only as needed. any interactions with the skelaxin?

Not a good plan: Fioricet ; Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) are habit-forming medications, and migraine can be a very long-term problem. Beyond conventional meds, many nutritional interventions may help, such as adding magnesium. Coq10, riboflavin (vit b2), and herbal feverfew. Eliminate coffee/caffeine, and monitor your diet for food sensitivities. Biofeedback and other mind-body approaches can help too. http://tinyurl.com/y883ulg.

can i take a fioricet and zofran together?

Yes: It is prudent to limit Fiorcet use, please keep your provider involved. If pregnant. Zofran is typically not the first choice for anti-emetics especially in early to mid pregnancy.

There is interaction: According to FDA there is drug interaction and it depends on how long you are going to take them together.Discuss with your Doctor or pharmacist before you take them together

taking topamax (topiramate) with fioricet, is this okay?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but wean down: Yes, the Fioricet will stop headaches that occur, while the topamax (topiramate) will keep them from coming on in the first place.  That being said, if you are still using the Fioricet on a regular basis, you should definitely look into alternative medications- Fioricet has been shown to greatly increase the risk of medication overuse headache, which is very difficulty to treat.

can i take tylenol extra strength with fioricet if i don't exceed 3000/24 hours?

Be cautious: I would try and avoid taking up to 3000mg of tylenol on a regular basis regardless of what source. While 3000mg/24 is an accepted dosing amount. The potential for cumulative toxicity is still significant especially if you take it regularly. Also, be very cautious if you have liver problems, consume alcohol or take other medications metabolized in the liver.
