Keep studying!: First of all, you have to finish medical school.  Then you have to do prerequisite training.  Options include a minimum of three years of general surgery training, completing a residency in ENT surgery, or completing training in orthopedics. Depends on the dr: As in any procedure, it depends on the doctor and the patient.  I think dermatologists are more likely to make this part of their practice, rather than surgeons, however. Botox is not given only to those over 40! every person is different and is evaluated on their own history, concerns and if Botox would be a good solution to those concerns.

Certification Matter: Not all cosmetic procedures are performed by board certified plastic surgeons.  The american board of plastic surgery selects its members on the basis, of ethics, safety, and appropriate management of complications among other things.  Unfortunately the us government does not impose this standard on all physicians.  So anyone with a medical license can do cosmetic procedures. Certification matters.

Liposuction: Liposuction is designed to decrease localized deposits of undesired adipose (fatty) tissue. No more than 1.5 kg of fat can be taken safely at one liposuction session. After that the risk of complications rises. That is approximately 3.5 lbs. Not a good way to reduce weight.
