my 6months baby has fever and throat infection. he is on augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) and panadol for two days now but the fever is not getting better. what should i do. pls help?

Can recheck with Dr.: A 6 month baby can have a fever when there is an infection. Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin drops are commonly used (for fevers over 100-101 degrees) to lower the fever so the baby will be more comfortable and less fussy. Parents should have a baby rechecked if symptoms are not better after a couple of days, or if symptoms are worse at any time. Strep throat infections feel better after 2-3 days of Augmentin.

Fever: If you have a sore throat and fever, you may have an upper respiratory infection.  If you have white spots on your tonsils and swollen glands in the neck, you may have strep, a bacterial infection which requires antibiotics.  If not, it is likely a viral infection.  Feeling ill may cause anxiety and this will raise your blood pressure.  If you don't feel better with Ibuprofen, see your doctor.

: This could be an infection or an allergy problem, or both. That conjunctivitis (pink eye) is now part of the problem isn't very surprising or alarming, either for infection or allergy. There isn't enough info for any distant forum to recommend the best treatment. Ask your doctor about referral to an otolaryngologist (ENT doctor), or perhaps an infectious diseases or allergy expert.  Good luck.

Maybe: However I’m not positive what “citrizime” is, because it is not on the internet. Could you mean cetirizine? When it comes to your meds, you should ALWAYS ask your Dr about it’s safety with other meds AND supplements, Especially if you are seeing multiple Drs. Only your Dr knows your liver and kidney status and past medical history/allergies etc so don’t trust answers from others/internet!

Pregnacy: I hope u have seen a doctor. Don't self medicate. If u are on antibiotics, the doctor must have given you the one safe in pregnancy. Keep fever down with paracetamol. Throats swab should have been done. The baby should be fine if these things are done. How ever there is a small risk of miscarriage. When there is a infection in the body . Any bleeding or spotting-- present to the ED
