any ideas why i would be running fevers after finishing chemo for breast cancer in nov?  i ran a fever at night for 10+ days in early dec & again now.

Puzzling: By now your blood counts should be normal ( have they been checked?).  Also, how high is the fever?  Any associated symptom?  Any new medication?  You need a full physical to try to disclose the source of that fever, may have nothing to do with your cancer or the chemo but it certainly needs an evaluation.

Fever after chemo: This needs be looked into asap. Call your oncologist. After chemo your WBC count is often low. Thus your  immune system is compromised and this predisposes you to infections. DO NOT WAIT

i got fever after the last shot of bleomycin for chemotherapy. is it normal?

Bleomycin: Fever can be one side effect of bleomycin but you should call your doctor as there can be other causes like an infection.

Serious symptoms: Speak with your oncologist and seek medical care.  Serious symptoms including fever, headache, weakness need specialized and immediate care in patients receiving chemotherapy.

Concern: It's definitely concerning. While I can't say for sure it's sepsis without other information including a blood culture and other information, it's possible you could be on your way to sepsis, especially given the fact you're on chemotherapy. I would highly suggest you get in touch with your treating physician or his/her on call physician this afternoon and discuss your symptoms with them.Good luck

Ask your doctors: This is obviously a complex situation &amp; it seems peculiar to be asking a doctor not familiar with all the details when you're in a hospital surrounded by docs &amp; nurses who know all the details. Low BP is a serious sign and could be due to infection, meaning the antibioitcs aren't working or have not yet had time to work or could be an adverse reaction to your meds. Discuss with your docs &amp; nurses.

It's possible.: But if the temperature is always high, your dr may consider ordering blood culture. Eat more fruits and veggies to boost your immune system. Consider  taking aloe arborescens. Hope u feel better soon!

Takes time: The fever in a patient receiving chemo with low blood counts can be for reasons besides infection, which is aggressively treated to improve outcomes. Once the treatment is started, it generally takes ~ 3 days before any significant change is noted. Feel better:)

Fever after chemo: is typically considered an oncologic emergency and you should go to the hospital or call your oncology nurse/team for further instructions. You may be "neutropenic" from your chemo, meaning that the WBCs that fight acute bacterial infections are very low. This can put you at risk of becoming seriously ill, and again you should be seen ASAP.
Fever is not typically a sign of cancer progressing.
