Not that easy: Yes, there is medication to increase fertility. But this medication is typically given in the context of achieving a pregnancy in a test tube (in vitro fertilization).  It is done under close supervision of a physician.

i have been giving myself fertility injections. there is a spot that is hard and a little painful. is this normal? will it go away?

Normal for injection: Any injection site can develop a little area of hemorrhage or irritation.  This is completely normal, but you may want to vary your injection site a bit (don't hit the same spot multiple times).  See your doc if it gets hot or red.

Fortunately, you will not need to take the injections forever.

Testosterone: It is a high dose of testosterone.  It will not affect fertility but can cause acne irritability.

Won't help: Hcg and B12 do not help weight loss. B12 is safe, can't guarantee safety of HCG in you as it depends upon too many factors. Don't know if you're getting your HCG legally or not, but it's probably very expensive waste of money.

If you're ttc at 38 see a fertility specialist (reproductive endocrinology and infertility or rei md) to get checked out and to increase your fertility. Low egg supply (diminished ovarian reserve) may be an issue in late 30's.
