Varies: It varies tremendously.  It sounds like you have a delayed or nonunion of your femur fracture.  Bone grafting (as you had), dynamics ruin, and use of a bone stimulator are all attempts to get this to heal.  Make sure you are not using nicotine or NSAIDs, both of which delay healing.  Best case scenario- heals in 8-12 weeks, worst case- still does not heal and needs more surgery.

2-3 day stay: A broken femur and at broken tibia requiring rods is a major injury.  Assuming they were isolated (no other injuries occurred), a 2-3 day stay is a reasonable timeframe.  There are several other factors that can impact the time required in the hospital and with major trauma prolonged stays are not uncommon.

Varies: Recover time will vary depending on many factors including age, general health of the patient, infection control, blood sugar control, the exact type of procedure, and post-operative and follow up care.  Discuss it with your surgeon and get their opinion as to what they feel is a reasonable recovery time for you.

4-6 months: Assumong there is no bone loss or infection most compound femur fractures will heal in 4-6 months.

Varies: It varies somewhat based upon the size of the osteochondroma, and so how much of the femur has to be resected.  For at least 6-12 weeks there will typically be an increased risk of fracture secondary to the stress riser that uccues at the site of bone resection.

i am a male 74 years of age who broke my femur 11 days ago. i had surgery and spent a week in the hospital until being transferred to a rehab center. i am not able to walk yet. how long should my recovery last? when should i be able to go home?

: Your case is very unusual so I wonder if you have any other significant comorbidities such as severe obesity, history of stroke or heart problem. If your health condition wasn't bad before the surgery then there is something wrong with your surgery or the rehab process because most people are able to walk after 3 months. You need to be re-evaluated by an orthopedist as soon as possible. Good luck.

Yes: Presumably this is a nondisplaced fracture, otherwise your doctor likely would have recommended some type of intervention, so yes, a nondisplaced femoral condyle fracture will heal on its own.  The primary keys to recovery are to work on strength and rom, which you should be able to start at 3 - 4 weeks.  Your treating physician will know best as to the timing of your treatment.

10-12 weeks: To some degree healing time depends on where in the femur the fracture is, but 10-12 weeks is a good estimate. Factors such as smoking and diabetes can slow the healing process.
