Rest.  PT: Basically your hip does not fit together exactly right.  There are a variety of causes for this.  If there is some particular motion that causes pain, avoid it.  Use Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories.  Talk to a physical therapist about improving your gait, and loosening your posterior hip capsule.  Consultation with an orthopedic surgeon is warranted if conservative treatment doesn't work.

Maybe: it you think the pain is coming from the hip which is usually pain in the groin, front of the thigh, buttock - especially if you have worse pain with moving the hip then it could be impingement or other problem in the joint itself.  best bet is to see an orthopedic surgeon for appropriate exam and workup

Yes: It is certainly reasonable to continue participating if you are not in much pain and feel that you are able to perform at the level you expect. There is some thought that fai can predispose you to osteoarthritis at a younger age. It is important to discuss this with an orthopedist to include possible physical therapy as well.

Change of med: Pain meds come in different types and dosages.  Just because your Doctor said you should be coming off them does not mean that there are no other medications to help you heal up.
Ask your Doctor for another prescription, and consult your Pharmacist if still need more information about medication and side effects.

: This is osteopenia with borderline osteoporosis. The numbers are slightly improved from prior studies and though the significance of this is arguable they clearly have not worsened. Based on the provided information your current regimen is effective and medication is an option but not required. To guide you, if possible get a FRAX calculation for a 10 year risk of hip and other major fractures.
